LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION BASED ON OPEN APPROACH TO ENHANCE OVERARCHING HABITS OF MIND OF A PRODUCTIVE MATHEMATICAL THINKER

Abstract

Enhancing overarching habits of mind of a productive mathematical thinker will help students use reasoning to construct knowledge in other disciplines. Most students still deficient problem-solving behaviors and self-awareness in their thinking. This research aimed to enhance overarching habits of mind of a productive mathematical thinker through learning implementation based on Open Approach for Grade 6 students. The research participants were 3 grade 6 students from a small school in Kamphaeng Phet Province. The content of this study is Triangles for 13 hours. The research applied action research, totaling 4 cycles. Research tools include: 1) Lesson plans using Open Approach 2) An observation 3) A test. The data was analyzed using content analysis and analytic rubric. The assessment criteria have 4 levels is expert, practitioner, apprentice, novice. For making sense of problems and persevere in solving them, the results from the test found that most students was in expert and practitioner levels. The results from the observation found that most students was in expert levels. For characteristics attend to precision, the results from the test and in the same manner found that most students was in expert.

การส่งเสริมคุณลักษณะการคิดเชิงคณิตศาสตร์และการแก้ปัญหา จะช่วยให้นักเรียนใช้การคิดในการสร้างองค์ความรู้ในศาสตร์อื่น ๆ ได้อย่างมีเหตุผล โดยนักเรียนส่วนใหญ่ยังขาดพฤติกรรมการแก้ปัญหาและความตระหนักในการคิดของตนเอง ดังนั้นการวิจัยนี้ครั้งมีวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัย เพื่อส่งเสริมคุณลักษณะการคิดเชิงคณิตศาสตร์และการแก้ปัญหา โดยใช้วิธีการแบบเปิดของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ผู้เข้าร่วมวิจัย คือ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 โรงเรียนขนาดเล็กแห่งหนึ่งในจังหวัดกำแพงเพชร จำนวน 3 คน เนื้อหาที่ใช้ในการวิจัย เป็นเนื้อหาในกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้คณิตศาสตร์ ระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 เรื่อง รูปสามเหลี่ยม จำนวน 13 ชั่วโมง รูปแบบของการวิจัยเป็นวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการ ทั้งหมด 4 วงจร เครื่องมือที่ใช้วิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ด้วยวิธีการแบบเปิด 2) แบบสังเกตคุณลักษณะการคิดเชิงคณิตศาสตร์และการแก้ปัญหา 3) แบบทดสอบวัดคุณลักษณะการคิดเชิงคณิตศาสตร์และการแก้ปัญหา โดยมีการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา และการประเมินแบบแยกองค์ประกอบ โดยเกณฑ์การประเมินมีระดับ 4 ระดับ คือ ริเริ่ม พัฒนา ชำนาญ เชี่ยวชาญ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า คุณลักษณะการคิดเชิงคณิตศาสตร์และการแก้ปัญหา ด้านการทำความเข้าใจปัญหา และมีความมานะบากบั่น ผลจากแบบทดสอบ ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในระดับชำนาญและเชี่ยวชาญ ในขณะที่ผลจากแบบสังเกต ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในระดับเชี่ยวชาญ ด้านการให้ความสำคัญกับความถูกต้องแม่นยำ ผลจากแบบทดสอบและแบบสังเกตเป็นไปในทำนองเดียวกัน คือ ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในระดับเชี่ยวชาญ
